About the Program
The Youth Air Rifle Shoot is designed to give kids a safe, fun introduction to the shooting sports while teaching responsibility, discipline, and outdoor ethics. This free program is open to youth ages 8–17 and is held at the Mountaineer Chapter grounds.
Supervised by trained volunteers, the program emphasizes firearm safety, sportsmanship, and skill-building in a supportive environment.
What Participants Learn
Proper handling of air rifles
Shooting safety and range commands
Marksmanship basics
Respect for firearms and outdoor traditions
What's Provided
The Mountaineer Chapter provides:
All air rifles and ammunition
Certified instructors and safety officers
Targets, safety gear, and range equipment
No personal equipment is required — just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
