About the Program
Each October, during the Mountain State Forest Festival, the Mountaineer Chapter hosts its annual Sourdough Buckwheat, Pancake, and Sausage Feed. This long-standing tradition has been a highlight of our chapter for many years, drawing members, families, and the wider community together
Purpose
The Buckwheat Feed is more than just a meal — it’s a chance to:
Celebrate community during one of West Virginia’s premier festivals
Share in the fellowship of good food and conversation
Provide youth with opportunities to participate in chapter activities
Youth Involvement
To encourage leadership and community service, the Boy Scout Troop 166 are invited to help with the event by:
Serving meals
Bussing tables
Assisting with guests
Why It Matters
The Buckwheat Feed is one of the chapter’s most recognized community functions — combining tradition, youth involvement, and support for local organizations in a way that strengthens our bonds both within the chapter and with the public.
