Izaak Walton League of America – Randolph County, West Virginia
Welcome to the online home of the Mountaineer Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America! We're proud to serve as stewards of over 1,100 acres of West Virginia’s beautiful mountain land, just five miles east of Beverly, WV, along the headwaters of Files Creek.
Founded in 1956, our chapter is home to over 300 dedicated members committed to the wise and sustainable use of our natural resources. We are especially focused on educating youth, passing on conservation values through hands-on outdoor programs, events, and mentorship.
Our Chapter currently offers:
Catch-and-release fishing for members and families in our stocked pond — trout and/or catfish, twice a year
Prime hunting grounds over 1,100 forested acres
Shooting range about a mile down the road from the clubhouse, available to club members
Youth activities focused on conservation, marksmanship, and outdoor skills
Our Mission Statement of the Izaak Walton League, Inc.
To conserve, restore, and promote the sustainable use and enjoyment of our natural resources — including soil, air, woods, waters, and wildlife.
Izaak Walton League - Pledge
"To strive for the purity of water, the clarity of air, the wise stewardship of the land and its resources; to know the beauty and understanding of nature and the value of wildlife, woodlands, and open spaces; to the preservation of this heritage and to mankind’s sharing in it — I pledge myself as a member of the Izaak Walton League of America.”
